Annual Summary of 2007 IAHR-APD Activities

1, January 2007: Launching Symposium for Journal of Hydro-environment Research took place in the University of Hong Kong.
2. April 2007: transfer of IAHR-APD chairmanship from Prof. Joseph HW Lee to Prof. V Sundar. Prof. V Sundar participated the IAHR Council meeting in the Venice Congress
3. July 2007: IAHR-APD Executive Committee meeting took place in Venice during the 32nd IAHR Congress, 7 ExCo members, opted member and secretary together with other 11 delegates participated the meeting, where the decision on holding the 17th IAHR-APD Congress in Auckland, New Zealand was taken.
4. Communication between APD ExCo with LOC of Nanjing Congress on the preparation on 16th IAHR-APD Congress is ongoing. An Indo-Japan workshop on Coastal Problems and Mitigation measures including the effects of tsunami sponsored by IAHR was held in IIT Madras, Chennai, India during 16-17
5. August 2007: election of new Vice-Chairman of APD ExCo was conducted by means of email voting, Prof H Tanaka, Japan has been elected as a new Vice-chairman and he has been trying to establish a relationship between IAHR-APD and APAC during the Asia Pacific Coastal Conference held in August in Nanjing.
6. September 2007: the first issue of Journal of Hydro-Environment Research was released.
7. September 2007: a delegation of IAHR Hong Kong Chapter and IAHR China Chapter visited Xinjiang in north-west China.
8. September 2007: the IAHR-Korea Chapter was established.
