Environmental engineering Department of National Cheng Kung University
About
I’m Quynh-Nga Trinh, a second-year master’s candidate in Environmental Engineering at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan (graduating July 2025). Growing up in Vietnam, I was instilled a deep respect for education and resilience, values that guide my work today. My research combines machine learning with environmental science: I develop AI-based systems—using YOLOv11, SORT/DeepSORT, and Dash—to detect, track, and quantify floating algal mats for drinking-water quality management. As a research assistant I have led GC-MS, TOC, and FEEM analyses, organized international training workshops, and presented at IAHR 2025. These experiences, together with hands-on field campaigns and 3D spatial modeling, have shaped my goal of translating innovative monitoring tools into practical solutions and pursuing a PhD focused on sustainable water resources.
