About
Dr. Tongchao Nan is a Professor at the Yangtze Institute for Conservation and Development (YICODE), Hohai University. His research is dedicated to advancing the science of water resources, with a focus on complex aquifer characterization, data assimilation methods for envrionmental uncertainty, and the sustainable management of groundwater and surface water systems. With a Ph.D. in Hydrology and a strong foundation in applied mathematics, Dr. Nan develops and applies mathematical tools & effective models to solve critical challenges in water resource protection, pollution control, and coastal development. He has contributed over 30 peer-reviewed publications to leading journals (Water Resources Research, Hydrology and Earth System Science, Journal of Hydrology, Advances in Water Resources, Stochastic Environmental Research and Risk Assessment etc.) and actively serves the academic community as an Associate Editor for Stochastic Environmental Research and Risk Assessment.
