About
I received my B.Sc. Civil Engineering (2004), M.Sc. (Civil-Hydraulics & Irrigation Engineering) (2008) from UET Lahore. I obtained PhD (Civil-River and sedimentation Engineering) (2011) from the REEL laboratory, The University of Tokyo, Japan. I have been teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses on fluid Mechanics, Hydraulics, sediment transport, water resources and Irrigation engineering at different Universities in Pakistan. I developed CADHS, a surface and subsurface hydraulic computation software for Barrages. In Japan, I visited hydraulic structures, studied river flow morphology and developed laboratory flumes to generate morphological structures and measure size-selective transport. The outcome was a computation model based on sediment shapes. I have been providing consultancy, review and testing services across the country. I am curious about the uncertainty of the sediment transport phenomenon and its interactions with flow, structures and benthic zone. A detailed understanding and modelling of the phenomenon can provide more sustainable solutions for the riverine environment.
