Abstract: The one-dimensional lake model GLM was used to stimulate stratification dynamics of two shallow lakes in Moscow – Beloe and Svyatoe. Observation data from the period 2021-2023 was found to be sufficient to calibrate a model and to outline the significant tends of the lakes thermal and mixing regime related to climate change and urbanization. Comparison of Beloe and Svyatoe lakes with Glubokoe Lake confirmed that urban conditions influence the annual thermal cycle. In urban lakes, 10-12 days earlier opening occurs, 9-16 days earlier transition of water surface temperature through 4 °C in spring, 2 weeks earlier stratification is formed. The value of maximum water temperature can differ up to 2 °С and occur a month earlier than in a water body in natural conditions. Destruction of stratification and ice cover formation in urban conditions occurs later.
