Abstract: Aquatic canopies in fluvial systems significantly influence local flow dynamics by altering velocity distributions and generating coherent structures in their wake. These structures play a critical role in shaping transport and mixing processes, including sediment entrainment, nutrient transport, and flow resistance modulation (Nepf, 2012). A fundamental approach to understanding and characterizing these coherent structures involves analyzing the energy spectra of time series data, which provides insights into the scales of turbulence and the dynamics of flow-vegetation interactions.
