Dušan Prodanović, full professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade since 2013, Head of the Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering Department since 2016, Director of the Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering Institute for three terms (from 2002 to 2015), President of the Council of Scientific Fields of Civil Engineering 2018 -2019, member of the Assembly of the Institute "Jaroslav Černi" since 2017 and President of the Assembly from 2021 till 2022. He finished elementary school and high school in Belgrade in 1979 and graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade (GRFUB) in 1985, at the Department of Hydraulic Engineering. He received his master of science (MSc) degree in 1991 from GRFUB with the topic: Experimental study of the influence of two types of control valves on velocity field. He received his PhD in 1999. also from GRFUB in the field of hydroinformatics, with the topic: Improvement of methods of application of hydroinformatics in the analysis of runoff from urban catchments. He has been employed at GRFUB since 1986, first as an assistant, assistant in 1991, assistant professor in 2000, associate professor in 2008 and full professor since 2013. Family and hobbies: married (since 1985), has two sons and two grandsons (March, 2023). In his youth, he was actively involved in competitive rowing, in 2+. After the end of his rowing career, he was active in cycling for a while, and today he is recreational. Amateur radio hobbyist, in his youth turned to audio technology and today to analog and digital technology.

In teaching activities, he teaches at the Department at all levels of study. He was a mentor in 4 doctoral dissertations and 1 MSc thesis and a number of graduate and master's theses. Participated in the research and defense of 8 theses. He is the author and co-author of 6 printed textbooks. He development the laboratory for fluid volume measurement, as well as the development of a number of teaching and laboratory installations, the knowledge innovation courses, as well as the establishment of a specialist course in 2017. In scientific and research field, he works in the field of measuring hydrotechnical quantities in steady and unsteady flow conditions, development of sensor technology, development of measurement and control programs, metrology implementation, application of GIS in problems of drainage of urban and rural areas, development of new modules for connecting GIS packages with simulation programs, connecting databases with simulation models, problems of pre- and post-processing of measurements in various fields of hydraulic engineering and methods of assimilation of on-line measurements and simulation models.
Major Achievements:
Scientific and professional papers (as on May 2021): 138 papers at international (M30) and 139 papers at domestic conferences (M60), 29 papers in international (M20) and 55 papers in domestic journals (M50), 9 chapters in international books (M14), 9 national monographs and chapters (M40), having total of 609.1 points according to Annex 3 of the Ministry's Ordinance. Citation (SCOPUS on 28.05.2021) = 545, h index = 11. In engineering and professional work, author and co-author of 78 professional projects (studies, technical solutions and conceptual/main projects). He is a licensed engineer and a member of the Serbian Chamber of Engineers since 2003. He has participated in solving numerous problems in industry, and in the development of new structures. Member of the Accreditation Body of Serbia, technical expert for flow (until 2020). International collaboration: Editor in Water Supply Journal (IWA Publishing), Urban Water Journal (Taylor & Francis Online) and reviewer of 46 papers for 9 international journals, participated in 7 international projects, lecture material at 2 universities and several international courses. He attended four universities, was a co-mentor on one doctoral dissertation (Imperial College, UK), and wrote chapters for four international monographs. Organizer of the 9th International Urban Drainage Modeling Conference (Belgrade, 2012). In the organizational work, he was the director of the Institute of Hydrotechnics and Water Ecological Engineering for three terms, president of the Council of Scientific Areas of Construction and Urban Sciences from 2018 to 2019, president of the Assembly of the Institute "Jaroslav Cerni" from January 2021 and member since 2017. and Deputy Chairman of the Main Scientific Committee for the regulation, protection and use of water, land and air. From 2002 until today, he has managed three domestic scientific projects. Awards: October Award of the City of Belgrade for graduate work (1985), October Award of the City of Belgrade for the best defended master's thesis (1991) and the first award of the Chamber of the City of Belgrade for the best dissertation (2001).
