About

María Bermúdez studied Civil Engineering and completed a Ph.D. in hydraulic engineering at the University of A Coruña (Spain) in 2013, with research secondments at Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) and Cardiff University (United Kingdom). As a postdoctoral scholar, she has worked at the University of Bristol (United Kingdom) and the University of Leuven (Belgium). In 2018 she moved to the University of Granada (Spain) after being awarded a Marie Sklodowska-Curie COFUND fellowship (Athenea3i programme). Dr. Bermúdez is an expert in flood risk assessment and modeling. Her current work focuses on addressing the flooding challenges posed by the climate emergency.
