Guilherme Moura Paredes is a civil engineer, specialised in coastal and offshore structures, and former recipient of a Marie Sklowdoska-Curie Actions fellowship. He is passionate about water, technology and nature, and he brings that passion into his career, where he worked for over 12 years in the development of wave energy converter, floating wind turbines, and offshore aquaculture. It helped him in creating a healthy relation between engineering and nature. He worked and studied in Portugal (FEUP and INEGI), Sweden (Chalmers University of Technology) and Denmark (Aalborg University) and collaborated with professionals from countries such as China, USA, Indonesia, Italy, India, Belgium, Austria, and France. He has now retired from the academic life and is venturing into industry, applying his technical and scientific background to business management. On his free time, you will find him putting theory to practice in aquatic sports.
