I am a researcher in environmental fluid mechanics, with a background in acoustics and aerodynamics. My research focuses on the air-water interface of turbulent flows, often the most visible part of a water flow and yet the most elusive. The interface hosts important processes such as the transfer of gas and heat between air and water, but it is a challenging entity to measure and characterise, that responds to a complex mutual interaction with turbulence. I have been applying my research to the development of non-contact river and sewage monitoring techniques (based on acoustics, radar, and video), and currently to the measurement of greenhouse gas evasion from rivers. I am passionate about everything waves and enjoy analysing experimental and numerical data, often with Fourier-based approaches.
