About
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in Civil Engineering with a PhD from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in buoyancy-driven flows, gravity currents, and Large Eddy Simulation (LES). My work lies at the intersection of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and environmental fluid dynamics. My doctoral thesis focused on the investigation of gravity current collisions using LES, examining flow instabilities, turbulence, and mixing phenomena at high Reynolds numbers in both homogeneous and stratified environments. I also apply my expertise to other hydraulic modeling areas, such as hydrological and hydraulic models for flood risk mitigation and the hydrodynamic modeling of floating offshore wind turbine systems, through my active involvement in EU-funded projects. Beyond research, I have taught a range of undergraduate courses in Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulic Structures, Computational Hydrodynamics, and Flood Risk Management at the Department of Civil Engineering at the International Hellenic University."
