I am a dutch engineer and 65 years old, who graduated in 1986 form Delft University of Technology. From 1986 to 2000 I worked in various countries in South East Asia on flood protection, drainage and irrigation projectsfor both riverine and estuarine locations dealing with floods and water shortages, fresh and saline water conditions. From 2000 to present I work for Rijkswaterstaat, for the Regional Office for the South of The Netherlands, under which office falls the water management of the dutch part of The Meuse River. My regular within the Cell of Meuse River Experts include : Updating hydraulic models for flood / water management. Monitoring of water quantity parameters. Reviewing and advise various studies into climate changes. Advise on water management aspects concerning applications for spatial planning licensing. Preparing manuals for flood management.
