Abstract: Urban intensification is a key factor affecting the response of combined sewer systems, especially during storm events. In this regard, the impact of several population density scenarios on combined sewer networks has been evaluated. The application of the proposed framework is demonstrated for a case study catchment in Thessaloniki, Greece. Hydraulic performance of the examined sewer network has been assessed using InfoWorks ICM model. The results indicate that mitigation strategies as the upgrade of the sewer system and the application of Low Impact Development techniques are considered crucial for the management of combined sewer overflows.
