Abstract: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) states that climate change impacts are already greater than expected at lower temperatures than anticipated before. Therefore, to better prepare, adapt and mitigate climate change impacts, the assessment of those expected impacts at more refined scales, namely the regional level (IPCC, 2022), becomes crucial. In this context, the main purpose of the present work is to assess the regional climate change impacts of the Ceira river basin, in center Portugal. This assessment will be performed in terms of variation of the meteorological variables, as also in their repercussion in the basin’s streamflow and in the occurrence of extreme drought events. To do this, a methodology adapted to Portuguese river basins was applied (Ramos et al., 2014). The work was developed under the scope of the Rio Ceira project (EEA Grants, 2022).
