Abstract: This study delves into the burgeoning field of impact investments, focusing on their potential to mitigate the water-related impacts of production value chains. Given the escalating global concerns regarding water scarcity and the pivotal role of the agricultural sector in water consumption and pollution, the research offers a timely exploration of how impact investments can be harnessed for water stewardship. The study comprises of three primary components: a literature review, an analysis of the barriers and enablers for impact investments in water stewardship, and a living lab focusing on piloting impact investment schemes to fund water stewardship efforts in the Archipelago Sea catchment area in southern Finland.
