Water Supply, Demand, and Pollution

Abstract: It is clear that the world's population will reach 10 billion in the twenty-first century. Water is a substance necessary to maintain life. Life was born in seawater 3 billion years ago and later moved ashore. Thus, to maintain life, water is required. As shown in Table 1, however, 97% of the earth's water is seawater. Land water accounts for only 2.5%.
