Abstract: China has some statistic methods for water and drought damages which base not on the money value but on the anomaly percentage of precipitation and affected or damage area. These methods are less affected by price inflation and are more accurate in measuring the natural disasters. This paper introduces these methods. A primary analysis of China's water and drought damages in the period of 1950-1990 has been done. The paper also explores the damage reasons, damage distri-butions and damage tendencies.
