Experiment to Control the Wavy River Bed in Flood

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to find the control method of the wavy flow and the wavy bed in flood river by the experimental model study using two open channels w ith the recirculating units of sand and water. In the experiments, the control structure is used in the wavy bed in order to protect the scour and deposit on the sand bed and also the propagation of the sand wave in the channel. The control structure is consisted of some piles units or plates units. The structure is expected to act as roughness or dams only against the movement of the bed material. After the experimental work in laboratory, the flat sand bed can be obtained by setting the suitable structure in the wavy sand bed. Also the uniform flood flow is obtained on the flat sand bed.
