Abstract: The paper reports the simulation of both dam-break and historical floods in River Klaralven. The emphasis is laid on the analysis of dam-break flood pro pagation characteristics along the 130-km long river, and the comparison of dam-break flood with historical floods regarding duration, peak discharge, damping effect and water stage.
