Abstract: The optimum choice of the evacuation site of an effluent pollutant in a natural flow has been studied in the manner to rationalize the degree of treated wastewater and to minimize the negative impact of the effluents on the quality of water. This optimisation methodology is based on the using of numeric models named DISPER that we have developed in the context of an agreement between the Environment ministery of Quebec and Hydro-Quebec (CANADA); the DISPER models permit to simulate the hydrodynamic propagation of the pollution and to calculate the concentration of the treated wastewater in the time and space.
