Abstract: In order to estimate the impact upon the water environment by construction of the sea dyke, both the field observation and the mathematical simulation have been carried out for estimating and predicting the changes of the water quality. These were made, taking Isahaya Bay as the case study, where the sea dyke is now under construction and the reclamation project will start right after its completion. In this paper, the calculated results of the DO and BOD5 concentration are compared with the observed one. At the same time, the effect of the existence of the sea dyke is discussed from a stand point for the improvement of the water quality.
