Abstract: A spatial non-dimensiona lization of the Saint-Venant equations is presented. Subsequently, the deve loment of an implicit scheme in finite differences, whereby it is feasible to simulate the displacement and behaviour of surge flow, is introduced. Finally, results of the numerical model application to the practical case of flow in furrows for intermittent and continual irrigation are presented.
