Abstract: Scour of soils composing the river beds of regular watercourses is characterized by a number of peculiarities,The scourproper is preceded by the stage of maceration enhancing the dis-turbance of the soil structural cohesions,decrease of itsmechanical strength。At the second stage the scour of the soilof the disturbed structure takes place.The weakening of the air-dry soils in the process of flooding is accounted for severalreasons /I/-wedging action of the aqueous film,osmoticpressure,distructive action of the air jammed in pores,
