Parabolic Approximation Around Semi-Infinite Breakwater by a New Ray Scheme

Abstract: A numerical study of water wave refraction-diffraction around a semi-in-finite breakwater is performed, and is based on the parabolic approximation and a new ray scheme. The model is developed for periodic, small amplitude, surface grav-ity waves and valid for any depth in shallow water as long as it is slowly varying. In the present study two bottom cases are examined: 1) flat bottom case 2) gent-ly varying bottom case.
