Abstract: In order to utilize the oceanographic data recorded by means of permanent field measurement campaigns for the design of nuclear and thermal power plants intake and discharge works, the design of single point moorings, docks and dikes, all of them necessaries for the Federal Comission of Electricity, it should be built a laboratory channel and a wave simulator for testing and verification of directional wave tide and current automatic recorders. The objectives, methodology and results obtained at the laboratory installations are described in this paper. The tests performed for four wave and tide recorders indicated a difference of 4% between the actual conditions and the simulated ones.
