Abstract: Previously the major characteristics of waves(period,height and direction)andtheir behaviour in the course of tests was set either manually or semi-automatically.Inaddition the tide and currents were generated by distinct apparati(generallymechanical)whose overall synchronisation was a delicate undertaking.The setting ofthe various apparati,and in particular for sedimentological calibration,was an operationwhich demanded that a variety of parameters be frequently changed or adapted.
