A Shore-Based Laser Autopilot for Model Ships

Abstract: A shore-based autopilot for the control of model ships moving across a basin in which differing sea states are being generated, is described. The autopilot uses a horizontally sweeping laser beam to determine the position and the yaw of the model as it controls it on a predetermined straight line course.
