Abstract: Einstein & Chien's concept of the decreasing Karman coefficient and Coleman's opinion of wake function are both widely applied in mean velocity profiles of suspension flows. The two methods have been intensively discussed in this paper. According to the calculation, the Karman coefficient κ of Coleman's data had the same tendency with Einstein & Chien's κ--E diagram; but the wake strength coefficient П did not change regularly, and Karman coefficient κ_b measured at the near-bed region was not a constant.
