Abstract: Video animation techniques, which make the result of numerical simulations understandable to decision-makers (politicians, the public opinion) belong to the most recent class of tools of hydro-informatics. Some examples are described in the present paper and demonstrated in its associated tape. Examples of the role of video animation in result analysis and in training in hydraulics will also be shown. But video animation techniques involve also the power of persusasion of images. Some examples will demonstrate how the engineer's objectivity may be deviated if using propagandist's tricks.
