Abstract: The backflow problems in the scheme of project on flood dischargeand energy dissipation are often ignored as a hydraulic factor, thecauses are as follows: 1 The velocity of backflow is much less than mainflow's,so it cannot be attached importance enough to the endangerment. 2 Backflow current march along the river banks,it divides riverbank from mainflow,so it seems to protect the bank from scouringby mainflow current.
