Abstract: Using a dynamic, two-dimensional, multi-cl ass sediment transport model, t he effect of storm induced currents, seiches and wind waves on the total sediment load to Lake Erie (USA) from the Sandusky River is investigated. The load at Lake Erie is different both in quantity as well as grain size distribution. Therefor e, sorting and resuspension are important processes control ling the transmission of this load through the River/Bay system to the Lake.
