Abstract: A formulation is proposed for the characterization of the physical efects of particle size distribution on therheologic behavior of highly concentrated suspensions, including the coal slurry lucls that are classified as pseudoplasticand described by a yield-power law. It was demonstrated that thesce formulations can adequatcly isolate the physicalcharacteristics by accounting for the concentration and particle size distribution effects, while the nonphysical charac-teristics are represented by a single suspension-specific constant for cach formulation.
