Abstract: Presented here is a precis of a laboratory study on the hydraulics of ice formation in culverts. Generally, culvert ice is a form of naled ice. Key parameters influencing ice formation are identified from the results of conservation-princi ple and dimensional analyses, as well as laboratory experiments conducted with a refrigerated, recirculating flume.
