Abstract: The SWMM model was used to evaluate the hydraulic capacity of the drainage system of the city of El Prat de Llobregat and to define the necessary improvements. Once calibrated and verified, the model predicted considerably smaller runoff flows than those initially estimated by the Metropolitan Authority, thus illustrating the interest and benefits of the model approach.
