Abstract: Possibilities of flood control measures are investigated in a small suburban catchment (size: 0.75 km～2), which is drained by a natural watercourse and a combined sewer. A bivariate model for the computation of design hydrographs as well as emp irical flood estimation methods by using catchment characteristics are applied, e. g. for the dimensioning of flood retention basins.
