Abstract: Equations derived from experiments on sediment transport in rigid smooth and rough boundary channels are used as criteria for determining slopes of sewers required to achieve self cleansing velocities for inorganic sediments. A mathematical model for sediment transport through sewer marine outfalls with risers has also been developed.
