Abstract: In the context of its hydrogeological activities Sogreah has developed a mathematical model represent ing steady and unsteady subsurface flow in unsaturated and saturated media. This model takes account of the physical parameters governing flow ln the two media. It ls designed to be used in the f ramework of a large- -scale study and also for smaller, individual problems. Graphic output prograns linked to the MINOS model enable the varlous factors which control subsurface flow to be represented in a vlsual, practical manner so that development schemes can be sized and thelr impact on subsurface flow tested. This article describes the princlples and assumptions on which the MINOS program 18 based. Varlous typlcal applications are also presented for purposes of illustratlon.
