Abstract: Simple conditions for designing geotextiles in filter structures were determined from analyses and comparison of pore size distribution curves in geotextiles and granular filter materials which satisfy requirements of Terzaghi. The conditions can be applied to design protective filters for non clogging soils. The results of calculation have been presented on simple example.
