Abstract: Submerged multiport diffusers are required to have function to make outflow rate through each port distribute uniformly. Most existing model studies of the multiport diffuser have been performed under atmospheric conditions and it has been suggested that the rate of outflow from the upstream port is larger than that from the downstream port when the opening area is uniform. But the diffusers in various plants are often installed on the beds of sea or river. In this paper, the authors study the submerged multiport diffuser of constant port area theoretically and experimentally. In the model study, special devices wlll be installed in the apparatus to measure the outflow rate from each port. And it will be suggested that the contrary tendency against the existing studies in the distribution of the outflow rate from the port may take place.
