Abstract: Increasing the energetic flexibility of industrial systems can help mitigating the negative impact of unpredictable and/or intermittent renewable energy sources on electricity grids stability. In water supply networks, such energetic flexibility can be reached by energy consumption optimization, electricity production at places of excess pressure or energy storage in reservoirs. In order to test devices able to provide such flexibility, a test bench has been built and operated at the Hydraulics Engineering Laboratory of Liege University in Belgium in the framework of the FlexWatter project. This extended abstract describes the test bench features and presents the experimental campaign that is underway.
