Abstract: Flash flood disasters are regarded as one of the most serious natural disasters worldwide, characterized by their acute spontaneity, swift escalation, immense destructive force, and high propensity for inflicting substantial casualties. Thus, for effective management and mitigation, it is crucial to identify potential high risk areas, and to adopt effective approaches. This study aims to predict the distribution of high-risk areas for flash floods by coupling the Random Forest (RF) algorithm with Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE), thus revealing their distribution patterns to provide a scientific basis for disaster defense.
