Abstract: This paper aims (i) at distinguishing among the different forms of alongshore variabilities and (ii) at highlighting the role of interacting variabilities on the possible locations of breach(es) through the application of the XBeach model to a synthetic case study that considers the variability of both the alongshore topography and hydraulic loading.
