Abstract: The physical model results showed that by placing flexible bristle elements in a vertical-slot pool, the flow energy is effectively dissipated by the vibrations and bending of the bristles leading an about 17% reduction in the spatially averaged turbulence kinetic energy which creates favourable hydraulic conditions for small-bodied fish.
