A Two-Dimensional Numerical and Experimental Study on Fish-Friendly Hydrodynamic Fine Screens

Abstract: Two-dimensional numerical study and laboratory scale hydraulic experiments were conducted for fish-friendly Oppermann screens. The numerical analysis shows that the recirculation zone area is reduced by 85 % in the Oppermann profile with compared to rectangular profile. The simulation results are consistent with the experimental measurements.
