Abstract: In this study, the performance of flood protection measures in the Goldersbach stream in the city of Tubingen was evaluated using a 2D numerical model. The simulations were able to test the effectiveness of protection measures in the case of a 50-year, 100-year and an extreme (ca. 1000-year) flood event as well as identify and map high-risk areas upstream and downstream of a retention basin.
