Size Segregation in Dense, Layered Granular Flows

Abstract: We propose a model for dense granular flows in which force-chains extend throughout the entire flow depth. The granular temperature profile decreases linearly from the top to the bottom of the flow; consequently, larger spheres segregate towards the base.
