Abstract: Indonesia faces a significant flood risk due to climate change, with severe floods becoming a recurring disaster. Factors such as high intensity rainfall, inadequate drainage systems, and substandard river management contribute to flooding. To minimize urban flood risk, it is essential to sustainably manage and restore natural or modified ecosystems in addressing such difficulties through the implementation of Nature-based Solution. This study aims to examine the prospect of applying an NbS approach for flood risk reduction, specifically focusing on riverbank erosion in two target areas of Miu River and Konaweha River. Two alternatives for revetment construction are proposed: concrete embankment and timber pile combined with riparian buffer. The cost estimation of these alternatives is done by calculating the volume of every work item required to construct a-meter-length project. The result presents comparison of initial cost between the countermeasure with NbS approach and the conventional grey structures.
