Abstract: This study estimated time-series Manning’s roughness coefficients (n) using discharge and water-surface-slope data from two automatic gauging stations in Naju City (Naju Bridge and Nampyeong Bridge). Conventional fixed-value methods fail to capture flow-dependent variations in roughness. The results showed that n values at Naju Bridge were higher than conventional estimates, while those at Nampyeong Bridge were comparable, indicating that traditional methods may underestimate roughness depending on local hydraulic conditions.
