Abstract: Early Warning Systems (EWS) play a fundamental role in predicting and managing flood risk. This work presents a new EWS for forecasting urban pluvial flooding that considers the effect of the drainage network, representing a significant improvement over current operational systems. The approach uses the Iber-SWMM dual-drainage framework to integrate distributed hydrology and surface hydraulics with sewer network modelling, enabling fully bidirectional interactions between surface runoff and the sewer system.
