Abstract: Ageing water distribution networks lead to increased leakage and failure risks, requiring targeted pressure management and pipe replacement interventions. However, these actions often entail significant environmental and social impacts. This study introduces a planning methodology based on advanced Digital Water Services to optimize the operational sequence of rehabilitation works. The approach aims to reduce intervention time and mitigate impacts by identifying network sections for isolation and consumers affected by service disruptions. The strategy is tested on a real water distribution network in Italy.
